The North American Old Catholic Church is led by a Congregation of Bishops and Superiors. Working collaboratively, and with input from the laity, seminarians, deacons and priests, we work together, very much like a choir, bringing all our voices together in one symphony, all to the greater glory of God.

Day to day church operations are managed by our Presiding Archbishop. The Presiding Archbishop is assisted by other clergy and laity in the planning, management, and oversight of daily operations.

Our main office is located in Washington, DC. Our contact information is found by clicking on the contact tab at the top right hand of this web page.

The Presiding Archbishop

Our Presiding Archbishop is Michael V. Seneco, SPSA. He was elected to the position on January 13, 2007. Working full time as the head of the church, the Archbishop focus's primarily on vocations, assisting clergy in the development of their ministries, and implementing the decisions and directives issued by the Congregation of Bishops.

Originally from Connecticut, and now based in Washington, DC, Archbishop Seneco is the pastor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Old Catholic Church, and is a prison and nursing home chaplain as well. Additionally, Archbishop has a vibrant wedding ministry, in which he performed close to 100 weddings in 2007!

Many of the Archbishops articles and homilies can be found at this website. He can be reached via email, or through the main church office at 1-888-650-1817.

The Congregation of Bishops

The Congregation of Bishops is the supreme authority of the church. Members of the Congregation are Diocesan Bishops, those bishops who are retired from regular ministry, the rector of our seminary, Saint Wolbodo,  and the superiors of our different religious orders.

Meeting yearly, the members of the Congregation approve goals, ministries, the annual budget, the ordination of candidates for the priesthood and diaconate, social justice positions, educational and theological papers, and identify priorities for the church to work on in the coming year.

Between each annual meeting, the Congregation of Bishops meets regularly via conference call and on the internet.
